L'utilisation des données provenant de véhicules traceurs nécessite le développement de modèles et d'algorithmes spécifiques, afin d'extraire l'information de ces données qui ne sont envoyées, jusqu'à présent, que par une faible proportion des véhicules circulant sur le réseau et avec une fréquence faible. La variabilité des conditions de circulations, due à la présence de feux de signalisation, motive une approche statistique de la dynamique du trafic, tout en intégrant les principes physiques hydrodynamiques (formation et dissolution de files d'attentes horizontales). Ce modèle statistique permet d'intégrer de façon robuste les données bruitées envoyées par les véhicules traceurs, d'estimer les paramètres physiques caractérisant la dynamique du trafic et d'obtenir l'expression paramétrique de la loi de probabilité des temps de parcours entre deux points quelconques du réseau. La thèse s'appuie sur les données et les infrastructures développées par le projet Mobile Millennium à l'Université de Californie, Berkeley pour valider les modèles et algorithmes proposés. Along with the economic and technical reasons that might imply those spectacular operations, the need to change the image or the ambiance of a neighbourhood or of a city is frequently called as an argument to defend them. By comparing different cases of urban renewal implying either demolition or conservation of the built environment, I propose to show, at the opposite, how demolition turns to be a negation of the ambiantal awareness, and how ambiances can become an operative concept, not to be merely opposed to demolition, but to be considered as a decision-making tool for re-shaping of the built environment. Ce type de modèles vise à prévoir la probabilité qu'un ménage change de résidence et son choix en matière de nouvelle localisation, en fonction d'un certain nombre de variables explicatives. Dans notre cas, la modélisation est fondée sur la théorie des choix discrets (approche de l'utilité aléatoire). La recherche s'appuie sur le cas lyonnais, le modèle étant construit sur l'aire urbaine de Lyon, sur des données de l'année 1999.<br />En termes de résultats, du côté de la mobilité résidentielle, il faut retenir que les variables qui expliquent la variation du degré de mobilité (du taux de déménagement) des ménages sont l'âge de la personne de référence du ménage, le nombre d'enfants et le statut d'occupation du logement. En ce qui concerne la localisation des ménages, les préférences des ménages pour une zone ou autre sont liées aux caractéristiques de celles-ci et notamment à l'accessibilité aux différentes opportunités et services, ce qui confirme que parmi les facteurs qui influencent le comportement de localisation des ménages on retrouve les accessibilités, et donc, l'hypothèse de l'existence d'un lien entre transports et urbanisme. On a également trouvé que les caractéristiques des ménages comme l'âge de la personne de référence, le revenu ou le nombre de personnes ont une influence sur leurs choix de localisation.<br />L'étude et les résultats des modèles suggèrent que des améliorations et nouvelles pistes de recherche sont possibles. Ainsi, du côté de la mobilité résidentielle, il pourrait y avoir d'autres variables qui motivent les ménages à changer de logement, comme des caractéristiques des logements, de l'environnement résidentiel ou d'autres caractéristiques des ménages non observées. Il serait aussi intéressant d'estimer le modèle de localisation a un niveau géographique encore plus fin (à l'îlot). D'autres alternatives de modélisation des décisions résidentielles des ménages seraient de modéliser une structure hiérarchisée des choix, par un modèle logit hiérarchique ou emboîté, ou bien de modéliser la trajectoire de vie, avec ses composantes familiale, résidentielle et professionnelle, qui sont en interdépendance (à condition de la disponibilité des données nécessaires). Il y a politisation de l'art au niveau du discours qui énonce le projet d'un art révolutionnaire ; il y a esthétisation de la politique dans de l'effet pictural obtenu. Si, dans l'espace pictural sur les murs de la cité, la révolution se poursuit en images, dans les rues de cette même cité la révolution a pris fin. C'est comme si les murs figuraient un univers de substitution à la pratique politique effective. <br />Y a-t-il donc des tensions dans ces œuvres entre l'espace pictural et l'espace politique ? Je suis plutôt portée à penser que ces œuvres expriment une profonde cohérence dans la figuration d'un nouvel ordre post-révolutionnaire qui se met en place par le moyen d'une " révolution par l'Etat " (L. It seeks to make a contribution to understanding and analysis of the phenomenon of rapid mass urbanisation in the Third World and its social consequences, the formation of huge urban slums and new forms of urban poverty. Its focus is the analysis of poverty which has been overwhelmingly dominated by economic approaches to the neglect of the social questions arising from poverty. This thesis approaches these social questions through an ‘urban livelihood framework’, arguing that this provides a more comprehensive framework to conceptualise poverty through its inclusion of both material and non-material dimensions. The study is based on primary data collected from slums in Dhaka City. Five hundred poor households were surveyed using a structured questionnaire to investigate the economic activities, expenditure and consumption, access to housing and land, family and social networking and cultural and political integration. The survey data was supplemented by qualitative data collected through fifteen in-depth interviews with poor households. The thesis found that poverty in the slums of Dhaka City was most strongly influenced by recent migration from rural areas, household organisation, participation in the ‘informal’ sector of the economy and access to housing and land. Almost half of the poor households in the study locations were identified as ‘hardcore poor’, that is having insufficient income for their physical needs. The remainder were found to be ‘absolute poor’, those who experienced poverty and vulnerability but varied in their levels of income and consumption. This level of poverty was also characterised by their social, cultural and political marginalisation. In summary, the urban poor remain very much dependent on their household and social networking, the main social capital they use to adapt to life in Dhaka City. Overall, the urban poor in this study experience the highest level of poverty and vulnerability in their everyday life. The thesis argues that the experience of poverty in the megacity of Dhaka for these households follows the pattern of urbanisation without development, the very opposite to their expectations and aspirations.
